Borrowing Privileges

Library materials can be checked out using your PC ID if you are a Presbyterian College affiliate.  Members of the local community 17 years of age and older may register for borrowing privileges upon payment of a $10 annual fee.

Due Dates

Patrons are responsible for returning items on or before their due date.  Most James H. Thomason Library items will automatically renew the maximum number of times allowed [PASCAL items do NOT auto-renew],  and the Borrowing Privileges charts below provide additional information.  PC affiliates can view items they have checked out via My Library Account, and all library patrons receive a monthly email with their active loan information.

Renew Items

Circulating items loaned by James H. Thomason Library will automatically renew the maximum number of times allowed.  Materials can also be manually renewed by visiting the circulation desk, calling the circulation department at (864)833-8299, chatting with us online, or signing into My Library Account [PC affiliates only].  Items loaned via PASCAL Delivers are NOT automatically renewed.  Patrons must manually renew these BEFORE the due date.  See the Borrowing Privileges charts below to see the number of renewals allowed per item by patron designation.

Overdue/Lost Items

James H. Thomason Library does not charge fines for overdue items.  Courtesy notices for overdue materials will be sent via e-mail as recorded in the college's BannerWeb or, for community borrowers, as provided by the patron.  It is the patron's responsibility to report any address changes to the library's circulation department.  Items not returned after three overdue notices will be presumed lost, and the borrower will be billed a $100.00 replacement fee per item.

Request Items

To request an item, PC affiliates can use the "request item" button in the library catalog [must be signed in], visit the circulation desk, or call the circulation department at (864) 833-8299.
