Evaluating Sources

• When was the information published or posted?
• Is there a more recent revision, version, or update?
• Does your topic require current information, or will older sources work as well?

*For web sources, also ask yourself if links are functional?

• A copyright or publish date for a book or book chapter
• A publication date for a magazine, journal, or newspaper article
• A last updated or revised date for a web source
• A posted date for a blog post, tweet, or facebook entry
